Functions do work!

A function is a set of instructions that carry out a task inside the function's code block;

It would really suck to have to put all your code inline (in the onclick attribute of the button).

Functions allow us to make our code modular (????) and reusable.

RE-USE:
myFirstFunction() can be called from any element on the page.
